A while ago I wrote a series of cards - notes to self about brand values, non-negotiables, and definite to-dos. I found them yesterday. One of them read, 'no huffing and puffiing.' Another courtesy of Paul Jones from Magneto Communications read 'an ounce of action is worth a ton of theory.'
In the last months I've been
challenged to take a lot of action. Yesterday I was asked by a journo
'what's the single most important thing for a small business owner to
do?' I gave a longer answer than I would have liked, but the essence is
'commit to your goals, stay in motion and adjust the course to reach
Driven by my current project (a fun,
invigorating challenge for Sony and the Just For Laughs Festival at the
Opera Hosue), and juggling that with perparation for Small Business
Month September and giving clients the service they deserve, I'm
realising there's even more action to take, some not to take, and more
to negotiate, learn, manage and produce. Often looming deadlines will
open up the possiblities of how much you can produce if you get out of
your own way and get down to doing work that matters.
